Are you looking for a reliable mechanic to provide a roadworthy certificate (RWC) in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne? At AAA Automotive, we provide quick and affordable roadworthy inspections and RWCs from our workshop in Mont Albert. We are a VicRoads licensed vehicle tester and can provide roadworthy certification for an extensive range of makes and models.
What is an RWC?
A roadworthy certificate, or RWC, is required by law in Victoria to buy or sell a used car, re-register a vehicle, or clear a police defect. Only licensed vehicle testers authorised by VicRoads can provide RWCs.
A roadworthy inspection is designed to ensure that your car meets a basic standard of safety for use on Australian roads. It is not designed to check mechanical reliability or assess the general cosmetic or maintenance condition of the vehicle.
What’s Included in a Roadworthy Inspection?
A roadworthy inspection is carried out according to VicRoads guidelines. It includes a complete check of all essential vehicle components to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive.
The inspection includes:
- Seats and seat belts
- Exhaust and emissions
- Wheels and tyres
- Steering, suspension and braking systems
- Windscreen and windows including front wipers and washers
- Lights and reflectors
- Vehicle structure
- Other safety-related items on body, chassis or engine
If your vehicle passes the inspection, a roadworthy certificate can be issued on the spot. The certificate will remain valid for a period of 30 days. If the certificate isn’t presented to VicRoads within that 30-day period, the car will need to undergo another inspection.
If the vehicle doesn’t pass the inspection, you will receive a rejection report outlining the defects to be fixed. Our team of expert mechanics can fix the defects, re-inspect the vehicle and ensure your car is fully roadworthy.
Wherever you are in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, you can trust the team at AAA Automotive. To book a roadworthy inspection, give us a call today on (03) 9899 6856 or contact us online.
